Accessory Dwelling Units or ADUS 00:00:33

Council requested analysis related to the allowance of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) within the City. ADUS are a smaller, secondary housing unit located on the same lot as a single-family home. It provides complete, independent facilities for living, sleeping, cooking, eating, and sanitation. An ADU can be part of the existing primary structure, such as an addition, basement, or attic, or within a separate structure like a backyard cottage or garage conversion. NYS Parks Grants Submissions 00:33:52

Staff met with Scott Burto from G&G Municipal Consulting and Grant writing to discuss pursuing parks funding. City Staff has been working closely with Scott and his team on the grant submission for the new park across from Kershaw and the parcel adjacent to Lagoon Park. City Staff believes the City can be competitive for the NYS NY Plays Grant for new playground equipment at Baker Park and the NYS Municipal Parks and Recreation Grant for a new building at Sonnenberg Park. G&G’s proposal also includes preparing and submitting an application to Gametime Equipment for a fifty percent grant on the purchase of playground equipment. The contract amount with G&G would be $5,500 for the preparation and submission of all three grants. The City Manager recommends appropriating $5,500 from the 2025 Budget contingency to fund the grant writing contract.
