CPSM was commissioned to review the operations of the Canandaigua Police Department to “identify appropriate staffing of the department given the workload, community demographics and crime levels; the effectiveness of the organizational structure; and efficiency and effectiveness of division/unit processes.” Jarrod Burguan from CPSM will present a summary of the report. The Department of Public Works, in coordination with our Engineering Firm, Larson Design Group (LDG), opened bids for the WRRF Resiliency Project on Wednesday August 6th. This project has previously been discussed at City Council meetings, bonding has been authorized, and grant applications for funding of the project have also been discussed and submitted. This project’s goal is to increase the capability of the WRRF to handle wet weather flows, and aims to replace legacy equipment that has exceeded its useful life. Two bids were received for the first scope of this project which includes the General Contractor portion of work, and three bids were received for the second scope of the project which includes the Electrical portion of work. The lowest apparent bids for both portions of work have been deemed responsible, therefore in accordance with the recommendation from LDG, the DPW recommends awarding the first contract to American Contracting & Environmental Services, Inc. (ACE) and the second contract to Hewitt Young Electric, LLC. The total contractor portion of the work estimated to be awarded is $4.5M, this amount is aligned with cost estimates, and with the addition of engineering services, contract administration, and contingencies is all under the budgeted/bonded amount.
