New York State Law requires that the City is required to ensure that all protective devices used by consumers to prevent backflow and potential contaminants from entering the potable water system are inspected and tested annually. City Code requires consumers to test, maintain and keep adequate maintenance and repair records. The City Staff has had difficulty in obtaining copies of these records from consumers in a timely manner which has caused issues during NYSDOH inspections of the City Water System. City Staff is requesting to add a deadline for consumers to provide the required documentation.
According to the NYSDOT, the City’s truck route system is not a typical truck route system and lacks a clear beginning and end point. Relatively minor adjustments to the City’s truck route system ordinance to remove two sections that are not part of a complete system and adding Western Blvd can rectify this issue. This will also allow for additional signage to be installed on State highways.
